Our Philosophy
At Tiny School, Big Hearts Academy, we believe every child deserves a personalized education that supports both academic and personal growth. Through individualized learning, meaningful relationships, and a nurturing environment, students build confidence, strong foundational skills, and the character needed for future success.
Tiny School, Big Hearts Academy uses The Good and the Beautiful curriculum, which combines strong academics, rich literature, nature-based learning, and character development. The curriculum includes a gentle Christian perspective; however, we respect the beliefs of every family and will work with parents regarding religious content when requested. Our small class sizes and personalized approach help every child feel known, supported, and inspired to learn.

Literacy
At Tiny School, Big Hearts Academy, literacy instruction is designed to build strong foundational reading and writing skills while fostering a lifelong love of learning. Students receive personalized literacy support through engaging, research-based instruction tailored to individual learning needs and developmental levels.
Our literacy program focuses on essential reading skills including phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, writing, and critical thinking. Students are encouraged to become confident readers, thoughtful writers, and effective communicators through meaningful learning experiences, hands-on activities, guided support, and opportunities for independent growth.
Through small class sizes and individualized instruction, students receive the support and encouragement needed to strengthen literacy skills, build reading confidence, and develop a strong academic foundation for future success.

Math
At Tiny School, Big Hearts Academy, math instruction is designed to help students build confidence, problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of foundational math concepts. Through personalized instruction, hands-on learning experiences, and individualized support, students are encouraged to think critically and develop a positive mindset toward mathematics.
Our math program focuses on building number sense, mathematical reasoning, computation skills, and real-world problem-solving. Students engage in meaningful learning activities that promote collaboration, critical thinking, and deeper understanding
while progressing at a pace that supports their individual learning needs.
Through small class sizes and targeted instruction, students receive the support needed to strengthen foundational skills, build confidence in mathematics, and prepare for future academic success.

Science and Social Studies
At Tiny School, Big Hearts Academy, science and social studies instruction encourages students to explore the world around them through curiosity, hands-on learning, and meaningful discussion. Students are given opportunities to ask questions, think critically, and make real-world connections while developing a deeper understanding of people, communities, history, and the natural world.
Science and social studies concepts are also integrated throughout other subject areas, allowing students to make connections across their learning in meaningful and engaging ways. Through reading, writing, projects, discussions, and collaborative activities, students are encouraged to apply critical thinking skills while exploring real-world topics and ideas.
Our small learning environment allows students to actively participate, collaborate, and develop confidence as they explore new concepts and deepen their understanding of the world around them.

Enrichment & Real-World Learning
At Tiny School, Big Hearts Academy, learning extends beyond traditional academics. Students participate in hands-on projects, creative arts, STEM activities, outdoor learning, and meaningful enrichment experiences that connect learning to the real world. Community members and guest speakers may be invited to share their knowledge, experiences, talents, and real-world perspectives to help enrich student learning in engaging and meaningful ways.
Students are encouraged to build creativity, confidence, leadership, kindness, and problem-solving skills through activities such as gardening, reader’s theater, creative writing, service projects, goal setting, and classroom responsibilities. TSBHA may also host themed learning days, reading celebrations, career exploration activities, and family involvement events throughout the year.

A Day at TSBHA
At Tiny School, Big Hearts Academy, students participate in a structured yet flexible learning environment that balances academics, enrichment, creativity, and real-world learning experiences. Daily schedules will include literacy, math, science and social studies integration, hands-on projects, outdoor learning, enrichment activities, independent work time, and opportunities for collaboration and social-emotional growth. Our small class sizes allow for individualized support, meaningful relationships, and the flexibility to meet students where they are academically and developmentally.
